NAIMA Honors George Kiemle Of Owens Corning With Stanley Matthews Memorial Award 

Alexandria, VA (November 16, 2005) – The North American Insulation Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) announced the 2005 recipient of the Stanley Matthews Memorial Award, George E. Kiemle.  Kiemle, Vice President and President of Owens Corning’s Insulating Systems Business, was honored for his long service and dedication to NAIMA and the industry.

“George has served NAIMA and its’ members, both as a member of our Board of Governors and Executive Committee. Informally, his ongoing leadership has helped NAIMA achieve its’ mission to promote energy efficiency and environmental preservation,” said Kenneth D. Mentzer, president and CEO of NAIMA. “George’s long record of service and strategic vision has helped make the organization what is today. This award is well-deserved.” Kiemle also served as NAIMA’s Chairman of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee from 2002-2004.

The Stanley Matthews Memorial Award, first given in 1989, is in recognition of individual contribution to promoting the benefits of insulation through energy conservation, energy efficiency and environmental preservation in the national interest.


About NAIMA

NAIMA is the association for North American manufacturers of fiber glass, rock wool, and slag wool insulation products. Its role is to promote energy efficiency and environmental preservation through the use of fiber glass, rock wool, and slag wool insulation, and to encourage the safe production and use of these materials.
