The Energy Policy Act of 2005 was signed into law on August 8, 2005. NAIMA and its members worked with energy efficiency allies like the Alliance to Save Energy to help Congress craft and pass comprehensive energy legislation for this country.
The Energy Policy Act provides tax incentives for improved energy efficiency, including the addition of insulation to proper levels, in new and existing homes and commercial buildings. Qualifying energy efficiency measures are set at or above certain building energy code levels. These incentives are available for improvements made in 2006 and 2007.
