profile

The moment is now for a large-scale insulation industry push to promote energy efficiency and insulation products. The Obama Administration and the current Congress are focused on energy policy, climate policy, and job creation, all of which are issues that insulation addresses and where insulation can make a positive contribution to the country.

Insulation has a unique ability to make an immediate impact on energy policy in the United States. That message must be delivered quickly to policymakers. Energy and climate legislation will likely be finalized in Congress during the first quarter of 2010, and the White House is already asking for ideas for a national building energy retrofit program. The time to make an impact for our industry is now.

We invite you to join the Council of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association. The Council of NAIMA is newly launched and is designed to achieve the following:
  • Unify and amplify the insulation industry’s voice
  • Establish greater influence in legislative matters and shaping public policy
  • Advance the benefits of thermal and acoustical insulation
  • Achieve stronger mandates for insulation in codes
  • Incentivize insulation retrofits on a large scale
The Council is active in the political and legislative and codes arenas. It advocates for policies and programs that mandate, encourage and/or incentivize increased energy efficiency in new and existing residential and commercial buildings and industrial applications. The Council also advocates for increased building energy efficiency codes and standards, leading to net-zero energy buildings.

The Council of NAIMA will provide a focused voice for insulation and bring the full insulation industry together for the first time. It will leverage the relationships and coalitions that NAIMA has built over its 75 year history.

The Council of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association is formed as a voluntary Council within the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association.

It is an organization or coalition of any individual, company, firm, corporation, or other form of enterprise in interstate or foreign commerce located in the United States of America, Canada, Mexico, or any other North American country engaged in the production of thermal or acoustical insulation products, as well as North American suppliers that deliver materials, components, or goods to insulation manufacturers and that share the group’s overall mission and philosophy.

This includes the “Purposes of the Council” and “Statement of Values” of the Council to promote the energy saving and pollution reduction capacity of insulation products and produce products that can be used safely.
